Problems with Opel Insignia 2022: check engine light, reduced power and rough idling

Check engine light on

Jerking on acceleration

Unsteady engine

Shaking while idling

Stalling while idling

Loss of engine power

Hey guys, I have a strange problem with my Opel Insignia 2022 with gasoline engine and need your help. The check engine light is on, the engine power is reduced, the idle is rough, the car jerks when accelerating and it sometimes stalls at idle. I suspect that there is a problem with the tank ventilation system. Have any of you ever had similar symptoms and how did you get it fixed at the garage? Please share your experiences with me. Thanks in advance!

Hey buddy, I had a similar problem with my Opel Insignia 2020. Incidentally, I also had difficulties with my Astra, also an Opel model. I have some experience with cars, even though I'm not a professional. My garage diagnosed a defective activated carbon filter. The cost of this was 275.0 euros. This fixed the problems with engine performance and jerky acceleration. However, in order to offer you the best solution, it would be helpful to know a little more about the exact vehicle information. Is your Opel Insignia a gasoline or a diesel? And how many kilometers does it already have on the clock? The more information you provide, the better we can help you.

Hello, thank you for your answer. My Insignia is a gasoline engine. It already has 93827 km on the clock. My last service was recently, but the problem still occurred. A defective activated carbon filter could really be the cause. I think I'll take it to the garage and have it checked. Thanks for the tip!

Ah, great that you reacted so quickly. A high mileage and the petrol model could indeed indicate a problem with the activated carbon filter. In this case, the symptoms you described, such as rough idling, jerking when accelerating and reduced engine power, are common. The filter could be clogged and a check in the workshop would certainly be a good idea. When you go to the garage, don't forget to have the tank ventilation system checked as well. This could put you on the safe side and prevent further problems. I hope this helps you and you get the problem under control quickly. Good luck with that!

Hi, thanks for the advice. I think it makes a lot of sense to have the tank ventilation system checked as well. You're right, I should play it safe and nip any potential problems in the bud. I'll follow your advice and hope that fixes my problem. Many thanks for your help!

Hello bobot50, It sounds like your Opel Insignia is experiencing some complex issues, especially with the idling. Check for Vacuum Leaks, inspect the EGR System and recheck the Throttle Body. I would recommend you to do all these checks with a professional mechanic if you are not comfortable yourself. Please update us on your progress. Do you have any further questions? Best Regards, CarlyAdminNik

Hello, my mechanic asked me a little and told me that the calculator would need to be updated. I have an appointment with Opel. I will keep you informed of the progress. They changed the flow meter but that didn't change anything. They checked the throttle body. So I'm waiting for the appointment with Opel.
