Hi, thanks for your answer. My engine is very unreliable and black smoke rises when I accelerate the car. It also feels like the power is diminishing and the car is not responding like it used to. The engine warning light also came on last week. And on top of that, the DPF is not regenerating and my car is using more fuel...really annoying. I only have 71934 km on it so far and bought it at the beginning of this year. I was considering doing my own diagnostics as I've already turned a screw or two, but I'm not sure. I've read that you can either free the DPF by high pressure or replace it, but I also want to save money where I can, so an accurate diagnosis would be great. Hope it doesn't sound too complicated, do you know what else has been done?

Hey, no problem, I'm happy to help. First of all, of course, it's not so pleasant when so many symptoms occur at once and you don't know exactly what's going on. It was similar for me, I also had the feeling that the power was diminishing and the engine warning light was constantly on. As for the repair, I can tell you that the diesel particulate filter was completely replaced in my workshop. They said it was so clogged that even a professional cleaning would have done nothing. The pressure sensor, which measures the differential pressure, was also replaced at the same time because it was probably no longer working properly. On the subject of diagnostics: Perhaps you can read out the fault memory if you have the opportunity to do so. At least that helped me a little. But as I said, I'm not a professional and ultimately let the garage decide. Regarding your point about fuel consumption: In my case, this returned to normal after replacing the particulate filter and the pressure sensor. I hope it works for you too. It may be expensive to replace the whole thing at first, but you'll notice that your car runs like it did on the first day. You can also be sure that the cause of the problem has been rectified. I hope that helps you for now. If you have any further questions, please let me know!

Hey, thank you so much for your detailed reply and support! It really helps to hear your experiences and understand what was done at the garage. I guess it looks like I need to turn to the professionals as well. I will try to read the fault memory and then take the car to the garage. It's a bit of money, but if the car runs smoothly again afterwards and uses less fuel, then it's worth it! I will also ask if they can check the pressure sensor and replace it if necessary. With this information in hand, I feel better prepared for what's to come. Thank you so much for your help! I hope it goes as smoothly for me as it did for you and I'll let you know how it turns out. See you then and thanks again!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Opel Crossland X Diesel, year of manufacture 2020. I'm not a car expert, but I've already turned a few screws in my life. I took my car to a specialist garage because the standard things like checking the sensors and so on didn't help with my problem. After a thorough diagnosis, a defective diesel particulate filter was found. The repair cost me a total of 1550.0 euros, which was a bit bitter, but I was also aware that the repair would not be cheap for such a specific fault. What exactly is wrong with your car? Then I might be able to say more precisely what was done in my case and whether it could help you too.
