Problems with Mercedes AMG GT (2016): Engine power reduced, restless and vibrates when stationary

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my Mercedes AMG GT (2016 model year) petrol engine. It doesn't drive as usual, the engine light is on, engine power has dropped, the engine runs unevenly, jerks when accelerating, drops when idling and also vibrates when stationary. I suspect a fault in the tank ventilation system or DMTL valve. Have you experienced something similar? How did your garage fix it and what were your experiences? I'm very keen to hear your advice!

Hi, had a similar problem with my Mercedes AMG GT (built in 2014). I have average experience with cars, but I'm not a professional. In my workshop, the engine control unit was replaced for 1000 euros because it was defective (but this only happens in very rare cases). Could you give me more details about your vehicle? Hey, based on the number of kilometers your AMG GT has done, some parts might be outdated. I took a closer look at this case in relation to the suspicion that the fault in the tank ventilation system or the DMTL valve could be the cause. In my case it was indeed the DMTL valve, which in turn led to the mass air flow sensor becoming dirty. The lack of power and the jerking could therefore be traced back to this. I had to pay a little less than 500 euros at my garage. I was really relieved that it wasn't the engine control unit. So my advice would be to get the DMTL valve and mass air flow sensor checked first, that might be a cheaper solution. I hope this helps you!
