Problems with irregular shifting and noises in the 2007 Citroen C4 petrol engine

Hey guys, I've noticed some strange problems with my 2007 Citroen C4 gasoline engine. It shifts erratically and sometimes the transmission slips. I also hear a grinding noise when shifting and a strange whining or grinding noise. Think it might be the transmission oil pressure cooler. Does anyone have any experience with symptoms like this and maybe know how the garage fixed it? I would be grateful for any tips!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my 2005 Citroen Xsara Picasso. I'm not an expert, but I do have a lot of experience in fixing things. I took the car to my garage and they discovered that the cable connection to the valve was defective. The repair cost me 170 euros. Could you perhaps tell me a bit more about your car, how many kilometers are on it and when it was last serviced? Maybe then I could help you even better.

Hey, thanks for the advice. My Citroen has already done 111164 kilometers and was last serviced about 6 months ago. I hope this helps with the diagnosis. Maybe the problem was similar. In any case, I'll have the cable connection to the valve checked.

Hello again, so with the mileage it is quite possible that a wear part is simply giving up the ghost on your Citroen. The slipping and grinding noise could be a sign of a problematic clutch. But it could also be the transmission oil pressure cooler or the valve. It's best to make an appointment at a good garage. In my Xsara, the ravages of time were simply too powerful for it to have been just the cable connection. Let us know what the garage says. All the best!

Hey, that's really helpful, thanks. I'll follow your advice and take the car to a good garage and get it checked out. I also hope it's just an aging component and nothing serious. I will definitely keep you guys posted. Thanks again!
