Problems with heating/cooling and fan in Peugeot 607 petrol engine (2002): Possible fault in the air conditioning system?

Blower does not work properly

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hi guys, I have a problem with my 2002 Peugeot 607 petrol car. The heating/cooling doesn't work properly and the fan is spinning. Could this have something to do with a fault in the air conditioning system? Have any of you ever had similar problems and know how they were solved in the workshop? Would be very grateful for any tips!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2000 Peugeot 607 petrol car. I am not a car mechanic but have some experience with cars. The problem was the air conditioning control unit, it was defective and had to be replaced in the workshop. The repair cost me 880 euros. I was finally pain-free and the heating/cooling worked perfectly again. Can you give a little more detail about your car? Do certain functions no longer work as they should or are there any unusual noises? Hopefully my experience will help you, good luck!

Hey, thanks for your input. My Peugeot has already done 198009 kilometers. Since the last service it's actually been running quite well, it's just the heating/non-heating thing that's annoying. There are no noticeable noises or anything. Maybe I'll just have to take it to the garage and have the climate control unit checked. Thanks again for the tip. Hopefully that's not 880 euros for me too... Have a nice day!

Moin, yes, that sounds almost exactly like my Peugeot back then. With so many kilometers on the clock, things like this can easily happen. The good news is that your car seems to be in good condition otherwise. And yes, having the A/C control unit checked at the garage is probably the best idea. It might be a bit expensive, but it's worth a try, right? Better than replacing the whole car! Good luck and let me know how it turns out! Have a good day too!

Hello, yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking. It's better to tackle the matter properly once, instead of constantly fiddling around with half solutions and perhaps ending up even more expensive. I will definitely pay a visit to the garage and have the air conditioning control unit checked. It's an older model, and over time the faults in such an old car just keep coming. Hopefully the problem can be solved quickly and inexpensively. Many thanks for your advice! Really nice of you. Take care and have a nice day!
