Problems with heating, cooling and fan in BMW 7 Series 2003 - looking for tips on how to rectify air conditioning system faults

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Blower does not work properly

Hey guys! I drive a 2003 BMW 7 series with a gasoline engine and have recently been having some problems with the heating and cooling. The blower area is also acting up. I have a suspicion that it is related to a fault being registered with the air conditioning system. Has anyone had similar experiences and been able to solve the problem specifically? I would be interested to know exactly what your garage did. Thank you in advance for your tips and advice!

Hi. So, I drive a 2001 BMW 5 series and had a similar problem with my heating and cooling. I would say I have a little experience with cars, so I'm not a professional, just a basic BMW driver. I went to the garage and they found that the stratification plate was faulty. It cost me 140 euros to get it fixed. I haven't had any problems since. But to help you more accurately, could you please give more details about your car? More specific vehicle information might help me to advise you better. Hope this helps a little!

Thanks for the tip, I also thought that it might be the stratification plate. My car already has a whopping 297392 km on the clock, but has held up well so far. I think I'll take it to the garage and have that checked. Let's hope it doesn't get more expensive. Thanks again for the quick reply!

Hey, no problem! Yes, that sounds like a good idea to have it checked at the garage. With so many kilometers on the clock, a lot of things can break. But don't be discouraged, a good mechanic can fix many problems quickly. It can be expensive, but the safety of driving should be worth it. Hopefully it won't be too expensive and your car will last a while longer. Please keep us up to date - we all like to learn! Good luck!

Sure, I'll definitely let you know as soon as I have the garage's diagnosis. You're right, I shouldn't put cost before safety. I'm looking forward to hearing what the mechanic has to say. See you then, thanks again for your help and encouragement!

I have a BMW f30 316i engine. The engine gives very strong jerks when accelerating at full throttle with high gears and uphill (usually on highways at high speed). However in low gears it usually accelerates well. There is no error message with Carly and no fault light on the instrument panel.

It sounds like you might be experiencing a fuel delivery problem. This could be due to a clogged fuel filter, a failing fuel pump, or dirty fuel injectors. I would recommend starting with the easiest check, which is replacing the fuel filter. If the problem persists, you might need to have your fuel pump and injectors inspected by a professional mechanic. This issue could potentially be dangerous if it causes your vehicle to stall while driving, so I would recommend getting it checked out as soon as possible. Please keep us updated on your progress.
