Hi, thanks for your tip. So it's a 2011 G Class, diesel. The car has run about 74504 km and the last service was recently. I hope this information helps you. What do you think, should I take the car to the garage or can I fix it myself somehow?

Hey, you can already do more with this information. To be honest, I would really recommend taking the car to the garage. The symptoms you describe sound like a more serious problem and in that case it's better to have a professional look at it. Of course, workshops are always expensive, but believe me, if you tinker with it yourself and break something, it will only end up being more expensive. So it's better to go straight to the garage and have it done by the professionals. Of course, before you go there, ask around, maybe someone knows a good and inexpensive workshop near you. Hope this helps you. Good luck with your car!

Hey, thanks a lot for your detailed answer! The information really helps me. As I'm not a car expert at all, I'm going to follow your advice and take the car to the garage, even if it might cost a bit more. Better safe than sorry, right? I'll ask around to see if anyone knows of a good garage near me. Thanks again for your help! All the best!

Hi Jakup, the error code B1FE097 you mentioned indicates a malfunction in the gear range display. This could be due to a faulty sensor, wiring issues, or a problem with the transmission control module. It's recommended to have this checked by a professional mechanic as soon as possible, as it can affect the functionality of your vehicle. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions or concerns?

Hi, regarding your issue, I had a similar problem with my 2009 diesel GL-Class. I'm absolutely not a car professional, but I do have a bit of experience. In my case, the wiring harness was faulty, which could also be the problem with your car. I took the car to the garage and they replaced the wiring harness. It cost me 180 euros, but it solved the problem. Can you perhaps provide some more information about your car, especially the engine and equipment? That would be helpful to be able to help you even better.
