Hi, my S Max has just under 9,800 kilometers on the clock and the last service was only recently. So it could be the age of the lambda sensor, even if it's not that old. Your experience sounds really similar. I'll see if I can have it cleaned or perhaps replaced altogether. Your tip about the ceramic was helpful, thank you! What do you think a new lambda sensor would cost?

Hi, cool that I was able to help! As I said, cleaning the lambda sensor on my Galaxy was sufficient. Including installation, it cost around 375 euros. However, a new sensor can be more expensive. Depending on the brand and quality, a new lambda sensor can cost between 100 and 300 euros. With installation, it should then be between 300 and 500 euros. However, I can't guarantee you the exact price, as it will of course depend on your garage. But you should be able to roughly calculate with these figures. Have a good trip and hopefully the problem will be solved soon!

Thanks for your detailed reply. Yes, I will definitely ask my garage and have it checked. The cost seems a bit high to me, but if it solves the problem, then it's worth it. Your figures at least give me a rough idea of what to expect. Thanks again for sharing your experience and knowledge with me. I hope everything runs smoothly again soon. Have a good trip too!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Ford Galaxy. I have limited experience with cars, I must admit, but I'll give you a brief explanation of what happened to me. In the end, I went to my garage and had everything checked. I spent 375 euros because the ceramic inside the lambda sensor was dirty and clogged. After the repair, all the symptoms disappeared. It would be helpful to have some more information about your vehicle to be able to help you more precisely. What are the kilometers on the odometer? Has the car been serviced recently? How old is the lambda sensor? We could then look for more specific solutions.
