Thanks for the reply. My fan is just making unusually loud noises, as if it's revving too high, and the heating/cooling is only half as strong as it used to be. It's extremely annoying, especially now that it's getting cold. My Altea now has 53450 km on the clock and its last service was about 6 months ago. I hope this helps you a little. Thanks again for your help & best wishes!

Hey, thanks for the additional info on the symptoms and condition of your Altea. Based on my experience with my Leon, I would say that your issues could very likely be related to the AUC sensor. The loud noises from your fan could be overcompensation for the faulty sensor. The heating/cooling at half power also fits with this. The cause could be a sensor that incorrectly interprets the fan as being too cold or too hot, thereby affecting the heating/cooling. It would be advisable to visit a workshop as soon as possible. In my case, the cost was around 90 euros, but this could vary depending on the region and the specific problem. A professional diagnosis and repair is always best in such cases. Hope this helps you and you get the problem solved quickly. Stay warm and have a safe journey! Best regards!

Hello, thank you very much for your helpful information. I will now visit a garage and mention your tip about the AUC sensor. Hopefully the problem will be solved quickly and I won't have to spend too much money on it. It's reassuring to know that someone else has had the same problem. Stay on the safe side and have a safe journey! Best regards!

Hi, I had similar problems with my Seat Leon, which is from 2016. Although I don't know much about cars myself, hopefully I was able to give the garage enough details. It turned out that the sensor was actually faulty, just as you suspect. The whole thing cost me 90 euros. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the exact process as the mechanics did everything. But I hope that helps you a little. In order to be able to help you more precisely, could you perhaps say a little more about the symptoms? How exactly is the fan behaving and is the heating/cooling still showing any signs of life or is it completely off? Best regards.
