Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, I already had a similar suspicion. My Etios has covered 114470 km so far without any problems, but now the trouble seems to be starting. I'll take it to the garage and see what the diagnosis reveals. Hopefully it won't be as expensive as yours. I'll keep you up to date. Bye!

Hey, that's really stupid. I can understand your worries. Take it to the dealer and have it checked. Maybe you'll be lucky and it's not the control unit after all? There are so many possible causes, from the battery to a faulty sensor to a broken cable. At least that was the case with my Yaris. Even if it's expensive, safety first! Keep your fingers crossed that it's nothing too serious. Please let us know what happens next. All the best!

Many thanks for the encouraging words! I also hope that it's just a minor fault and not the control unit. I'll go straight to the workshop tomorrow and let you know afterwards. Safety really does come first, especially with things like this. See you then and thanks again for the help!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2018 Toyota Yaris. My car knowledge is not exactly great, I would say I have little experience. My garage then discovered that my control unit was faulty and sending incorrect signals to the BUS system. The repair cost me 1000 euros, so it wasn't a cheap pleasure, but afterwards everything ran like clockwork again. Without more info on your car it's difficult to give you more details, but I would definitely recommend getting it checked out at a garage. Sounds pretty much like the problem my car was experiencing. Hope that helps you for now! Do let me know when you've found out more.
