Problems with electrical failure and weak battery in Citroen C3, model year 2019 - Possible interruption of terminal 30?

Hey guys, I have a problem with my Citroen C3, year 2019, diesel. The car is not behaving as usual and is showing some specific symptoms such as general electrical failure, stored faults, dim or flickering lights and low battery when starting the engine. I have a suspicion that possibly a break in terminal 30 could be the reason, but I'm not sure. Have any of you had similar experiences and can give me tips on how to isolate and fix the problem? I am particularly interested in what solutions have been found in your workshops. Thank you very much!

Hey, I had a similar situation with my 2017 Citroen C4, I'd say I have a certain amount of experience when it comes to cars. When I visited my garage, similar symptoms presented themselves. My car had a faulty battery sensor. The repair cost 315 euros. This could also be the problem with your car. Perhaps you should ask a mechanic to check the battery sensor. Can you give me some more information about your car so that I can help you better? Engine size, mileage, have you made any changes recently? This could be crucial to get a better insight.

Hey, thanks for your quick reply and the info! I have a diesel engine and the last readout was at 30417 KM km. Not sure if I missed it, but the error occurred without me changing anything on the car before. I will follow your advice and have the battery sensor checked. Thanks again for your helpful tip!

Hey, no problem, that's what we're here for, to help each other! With your mileage, I wouldn't necessarily expect a battery defect, but you still deserve to check the battery sensor. In the case of my Citroen C4, it has been shown that the charging voltage of the alternator can also play a role. It may not be supplying enough current, which can lead to the problems you describe. You could have the charging voltage checked to see if it is within the correct range. Another possible fault could be an interruption or short circuit in terminal 30, as you have already mentioned. So it might make sense to have this checked as well. In any case, I wish you every success and hope you can fix the problem quickly!

Hey, this is a great user community here, thanks for the valuable tips! I never would have thought to check the alternator. Both the battery sensor and checking the alternator and terminal 30 are definitely items I will add to my checklist. I will definitely report back to you once I have an accurate diagnosis and result. Thanks again for your time and help!

Hello to everybody. I would like to ask. I own a C3, year 2019, petrol and i have a problem. My car starts by pressing a button and sometimes (usually in high temperatures), when i pressure the button it takes a few seconds (4 to 5) to start the engine. I took the car to a mechanic but there were no failures or syptoms to the dygnostic check. I recently changed the battery and the starter seems to be ok. I also changed the batteries to my both keys but the problem continues. Our mechanic also ruled out a possible fuel pump failure. Any ideas?

It sounds like you've already ruled out a lot of potential issues. One thing you might want to consider is the ignition switch. If it's faulty, it could cause a delay in starting the engine. I'd recommend having a mechanic check the ignition switch for any signs of wear or damage.

It sounds like your battery might be failing or there could be an issue with your alternator not properly charging the battery. I would recommend starting with a simple battery test. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. If the battery is fine, then you should have your alternator checked. Please keep us updated on your progress.
