Problems with cooling and heating in the Seat Alhambra Diesel 2011 - Possible fault with the electric auxiliary heater or the climate control system

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Hello folks! I have a problem with my Seat Alhambra Diesel from 2011. The cooling and heating are not working properly. I think it might be a fault with the electric auxiliary heater or the climate control. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and how did you solve it? I would be pleased to hear your experiences and tips. Thanks in advance!

Sure, I had a similar problem with my 2009 Seat Altea, a different model but very similar to your Alhambra. I have a bit of experience with cars, but I'm not a professional. My car had the same problems and I took it to the garage. It turned out to be a fault in the climate control unit and it cost me €980 to get it fixed. Can you tell me a bit more about your car, such as mileage and if there are any other problems? That might help me to help you a bit more accurately.

Sure, no problem! My Alhambra now has 105690 km on the clock and is actually running quite well, apart from the heating and cooling problems that have now arisen. As far as I know, the car survived the last service without any major problems. Your experience with the climate control unit is interesting, maybe that could be the problem for me too. 980 € doesn't sound so nice, but if it helps, it has to be done. Thanks for your tip!

Hey, thanks for the info! It's great that your Alhambra is otherwise running so reliably. With my Altea, the air conditioning control unit was actually the problem. With older models in particular, usage often has more of an effect than pure mileage. Of course, a broken auxiliary heater could also be the culprit, especially in cold weather. What you could try is to use a car diagnostic tool or take your Alhambra to a garage that will do it for you. They can find out quite accurately what the problem is before you spend money on repairs. Hope that helps a bit!

Great, thanks for the advice! I've also considered buying a diagnostic tool, but was unsure if it would actually help. But if you say it's a good way to find the problem, I'll probably do it. And I'll also look for a workshop in case I can't solve the problem myself. It's not the cheapest solution, but the main thing is that the heating works again. Thanks again for your help!
