Problems with constantly low tire pressure on Citroën Berlingo model year 2003

Tire pressure to low

Hi folks, I have a strange problem with my Citroën Berlingo (built in 2003, diesel) and need your help. The tire pressure seems to be constantly too low. Could you share your experiences if you have had similar problems? What was the cause and how did you get it fixed at the garage? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi mate, I had a similar problem with my Citroën Xsara (built 2005, diesel). I'm not a car expert, but have a bit of experience. So, I went to my local garage and they found out that there was sporadic faulty communication between ECUs. At the time I had to fork out 955 euros to get it fixed. It was a real pain in the neck. To help you better, could you please share more details? How often does this problem occur? Have you changed the wheels or changed any settings? Your answers could help narrow down the problem.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. The problem actually occurs quite randomly. There are no specific patterns or times when the pressure is too low. I have not made any changes to the wheels or settings. My car now has 29381 km on the clock. I didn't notice anything abnormal at the last service. I'm a bit at a loss now.

Hi, thanks for the precise details. Since it happens so randomly and you haven't changed anything, it could of course be due to many things. For me it was the control system at the time, but it could also simply be the weather or small leaks in the tires. If you don't see any visible damage to the tires, it could also be a problem with the tire pressure sensor. I would recommend that you drive to the nearest garage and have a check carried out there. Unfortunately, I can only help you to a limited extent from afar. Perhaps they can find the exact fault there and rectify it. I hope it won't be as expensive as it was for me! I wish you the best of luck and please keep us posted on what it was in the end. Hopefully the problem will be solved soon!

Hello again. Well, those are some really helpful suggestions, thank you. It definitely makes sense to have it checked at the garage. I checked the tires and couldn't find any obvious damage. It really could be the sensor. It's just a shame that it always costs something to sort these things out. I wish I'd known beforehand that these Berlingos could have such quirks.... but that's life, isn't it? I'll have the car checked out at my regular garage as soon as possible and then let you know what it was. I also hope that it won't be that expensive. Thanks again for the valuable advice and quick help!
