Hey, thanks for the quick reply. I didn't see any error messages in the on-board computer. And the car hasn't had any other problems either. The last service was also only at a mileage of 36383 km, so nothing that would indicate a defective battery or sensor. I'll take it to the garage and have the battery sensor checked. Thanks for the tip with the 315 euros, I can prepare myself for that.

No problem, always welcome! Yes, if there are no error messages and no other problems, it seems likely to be the battery sensor, especially if you have similar symptoms to mine at the time. As I said, for me it was this microprocessor in the battery sensor. Since the replacement, my Land Cruiser no longer has any problems starting, not even with cold starts. Just make sure you don't wait too long. If the sensor is faulty it will cause excessive voltages and this can cause serious damage to the electrical system. If you have any questions or need more information, please let me know!

Hey, thanks again. You've really helped me. I'll make an appointment at the workshop straight away. I can really do without an expensive repair to the electrical system. I hope it really is just the battery sensor. And if I have any further questions, I'll be happy to come back to you.

Hi, I have a Toyota Land Cruiser, built in 2009, also with a gasoline engine. I only have a little experience with cars. Something similar happened to me and it was also the battery sensor. It was a problem with the microprocessor in the battery sensor. I had to go to the garage to get it fixed. The mechanic replaced the sensor and it cost a total of 315 euros. But to help you better, could you please tell me if you see any error messages on the on-board computer? Has the car had any other problems recently?
