When I had this problem, I went to my trusted garage ('Auto-Müller' is the name of the good soul). They did a thorough check and confirmed that the diesel particulate filter (DPF) was indeed internally defective. It was quite an expensive job (cost me 1550 euros), but after the repair my car ran like clockwork again. To help you further, it would be good to know how many kilometers your car has driven and whether you often drive short distances. It could be that your DPF is simply saturated and a professional cleaning could help. See you then!
