Hi, thanks for your answer. My X6 has a diesel technology engine and has already run 162859 km. The last service was not too long ago. I realize that I have to replace the boost pressure regulator, I just hope that there are no more surprises. I would actually prefer it if I could do it myself, but then again I don't have that much knowledge. How long did it take you in the workshop?

Oh, I'm not at all surprised at the mileage, it was about that many kilometers when I had the problem. It took them about half a day at the workshop because they wanted to clean the parts properly. They also told me that a boost pressure regulator like this can simply fail without you noticing it - apart from the symptoms you described. If you don't have that much knowledge, it's better to have it done, because if you break something, it can be expensive. So it's better to get it right once and then you'll have peace of mind. As for the cost, I can only say that it was around 1520 euros for me, but it can vary depending on what is being done and which parts are needed. Have you already made an appointment at the workshop? If not, I would do it soon so that it can be fixed quickly. Have a good trip and don't get too stressed, it will be fine!

Hey, thanks for the detailed answer. No, I haven't made a workshop appointment yet, but I'm really going to tackle this now. The mileage thing also seems logical to me now, but you always hope that you can get around a bit before the next big chunk is due. 1520 euros is quite a lot, but if it helps, then it's worth it. I'm also convinced of the quality of my BMW, so I'll have it done professionally. Maybe I'll be lucky and it'll be cheaper than yours. Let's hope for the best! Thanks again for the help, I'll let you know how it goes. Drive carefully!

Vehicle idle is unstable
It sounds like your vehicle might be experiencing an issue with its idle air control valve or there could be a vacuum leak. Start by checking for any visible signs of a vacuum leak such as hissing sounds or cracked hoses. If you don't find anything, you might want to consider having a mechanic inspect the idle air control valve. This is a safety-relevant issue, so I recommend getting it checked out as soon as possible. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

Hello, I had a new turbocharger installed in my BMW e90 2007. After the first day it lost power.
What could be the reason ? I am desperate
It's possible that the turbocharger isn't installed correctly or there might be an issue with the oil supply to the turbocharger. Start by checking the oil lines for any blockages or leaks. If everything seems fine, it would be best to take your car back to the mechanic who installed the turbocharger for a recheck. This is a safety-relevant issue, so I recommend getting it checked out as soon as possible. Please keep us updated on your progress. Do you have any other questions?

Hello, thank you for your answer. I have noticed that the boost pressure regulator stays up. If you press it down slightly, the power is back. FS boost pressure controller, status line. The old one worked fine, I have a new one because the vanes had play.

It seems like the boost pressure regulator might be sticking or not functioning properly. If pressing it down restores power, it's likely that the regulator isn't moving freely as it should. You might want to consider replacing the boost pressure regulator. Please remember to disconnect the battery before starting any work. After replacing it, please let us know if the issue is resolved. Hi, I had a similar problem with my BMW X5 Diesel, built in 2010. My knowledge of car technology is rather low, but I had just enough experience to recognize the problem in my case. In my case, the boost pressure actuator was electrically defective and the whole thing cost me 1520 euros in the workshop. The guys there removed everything, cleaned it and removed faults such as sooty parts. Then they replaced the boost pressure regulator and put everything back together again. I would suggest having your car checked, as the boost pressure regulator could also be electrically defective. What engine type does your X6 have and how many kilometers has it already run? Maybe I can then give you a few more details to help you further.
