Problems with Audi Q5 Diesel: Defective fan, insufficient cooling/heating capacity and warning light

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Blower does not work properly

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, I'm having a bit of trouble with my 2010 Audi Q5 diesel. The blower isn't working properly and the cooling/heating isn't adequate either. In addition, a warning light is illuminated in the speedometer. Could it be that the solar sensor is defective? Have any of you ever had similar problems and could give me tips on how best to tackle the problem? I'm particularly curious to know how your workshop visit went and what your experiences were. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a modest experience with cars, but had a similar problem with my 2008 Audi Q7. It turned out that it was actually the solar sensor that was faulty. I had it checked at my garage and they charged me 125 euros for the repair. It seems that your problem could also be a faulty solar sensor. To help you more accurately, it would be great if you could give more details about your car, such as the current mileage and whether you have had any recent repairs or servicing. Maybe there are other symptoms you've noticed? The more information I have, the better I may be able to help you.

Hey, thanks for your answer! I was already thinking something like that with the solar sensor... So my Audi already has 176543 km on it, nothing conspicuous was found at the last inspection about two months ago. Since then it has actually been running quite well, except for this current issue... But I haven't noticed any other symptoms. Do you think I should just take it to the garage and have it checked? I'm already worried about the costs, of course...

Hey, no problem! Of course, with such a high mileage, problems can always occur... I would definitely suggest that you visit your garage and address the issue with the solar sensor. If it really is the culprit, then it hasn't been as expensive as I feared, at least in my case. However, it can of course vary depending on the workshop. But don't panic, it's often the little things that have a big impact. Let us know how it goes!

Hey, thanks again for your advice! Alright, I think I'll make an appointment at the garage and have it checked out. I just hope it won't be too expensive... But you're right, sometimes it really is the little things. I'll definitely let you know what comes out of it. Thanks again!
