Problems with air conditioning and heating in Opel Captiva (2007): Search for solutions and experiences

Insufficient Cooling/Heating

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hi guys, I have some problems with my Opel Captiva (built in 2007, gasoline engine). The air conditioning blows warm air and the cooling/heating doesn't work properly. I think it could be due to a faulty solar sensor in the interior. Have any of you had similar experiences and can you give me any tips on how to rectify the problem? How have you had these problems solved in your workshop and what experiences have you had? I am grateful for any help. Best regards!

Hi, I had similar problems with my 2009 Opel Antara. I can't boast much expertise, but I know a bit about cars. I also had problems with the air conditioning at the time. Turned out the wiring harness was faulty. I had it fixed at my garage, where I've always had good experiences. Cost me about 155.0 euros. It could be similar for you, but it would be helpful if you could provide more details about your vehicle. Exact model name, mileage if you have one. This could help with troubleshooting. I hope I've been able to help you a little. Greetings!

Hey, thanks for your reply! That makes sense with the wiring harness, I'll have that checked. My Captiva has now done 100917 km and the last service was a few months ago. Could be that it was overlooked during the last service. Ship, will be a bit expensive I think, but if it solves the problem.... Well, thanks again for the tip! Regards

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! Yes, the mileage could be helpful, especially if you say that the last service was very recent. Maybe something went wrong during the last service or they missed something. It happens to the best of us, even the supposed experts. Well, 155.0 euros was mine, it might be a little more or less for you, but you just have to weigh up what's better: sitting in a hot or cold car, or investing a few euros more and driving at a pleasant temperature. I hope the problem can be solved quickly and not too expensively. Keep us posted and good luck. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any further questions. Greetings back!

Hey, thanks for the encouraging words! Yes, sometimes you just have to invest to be able to drive properly, you're right. I'll definitely check with the garage and hope that there are no more surprises... I'll keep you up to date, of course, and thank you again for your help! See you then, bye!
