Hey, I haven't done a diagnostic test yet, as I honestly don't know how to do it yet. I haven't seen any error codes yet. I think the idea with the battery is great, I'll give it a try. For your information, my Tiguan has now run 160200 km and was last serviced. Maybe you can do something with that. And 505 euros for just one sensor sounds pretty hefty. I hope it will be cheaper for me! Thanks for the tip!

Well then, good day again! I can understand that 505 euros seems a lot. I thought so too at first, but I think a lot of the cost was due to mechanic labor and not just the part itself. It sounds pretty good so far that your Tiguan has been regularly serviced. The mileage isn't exactly low, but normally a Volkswagen should still be running well at over 160k. A diagnostic test isn't too difficult if you have the right equipment. You can buy an OBD-II diagnostic device from Amazon or an auto parts store. You simply plug it into the OBD-II port in your car (should be somewhere under the dashboard) and it should then show you any fault codes the car has stored. I would also recommend considering other possible causes. For example, a worn rack and pinion can cause vibrations in the steering wheel and also cause the power steering to fail. Or perhaps the problem is not directly in the steering wheel, but is a result of a problem with the tires or brakes. I hope this helps you and you get closer to the problem. Good luck with it, and let me know if you know more or have further questions!

Thanks for the further help and the information on the diagnostic test. It doesn't sound too complicated, I'll try it myself this week. It's good to know that other causes could also be possible. I'll keep you posted on the progress. If so, I'm sure I'll have another series of questions! Thanks again and have a nice day!

Hello, I have a Golf 5 1.4 from 2006 that won't start. My friend has changed the battery and now the car won't start. It revs very freely in my opinion. He left the lights on in the car. The next day he bypassed the car and it started. After replacing the battery, it no longer starts and the fault code is C0460 Encoder for steering angle sensor. The error remains there permanently, even after deleting it. Do you have any ideas? Many thanks in advance

Check if the battery terminals are securely connected and free of corrosion. A loose connection can cause electrical issues. If the problem persists, inspect the fuses related to the steering angle sensor and ignition system. Let me know how it goes or if you have more questions!
Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2010 VW Golf, so yes, pretty similar to your Tiguan. I have to admit that I have very little experience with cars, so I went straight to my trusted garage. They actually replaced the steering angle sensor on my Golf and it cost 505 euros. After the replacement, the problems with ABS/DSC and the vibrating steering wheel were resolved. To be able to help you better, it would be helpful to know whether you have ever done a diagnostic test or whether certain error codes were displayed. Have you ever tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? That could sometimes help, at least temporarily. Hope this helps you a little!
