Problems with ABS/DSC system and power steering in the 2014 BMW 4 Series

Vibrating/shaking steering wheel

ABS/DSC system is not working

Power steering without function

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my 2014 BMW 4 Series, gasoline engine. The ABS/DSC system is not working, the power steering is not working and the steering wheel is vibrating/shaking. I suspect it could be the steering angle sensor. Has anyone ever had a similar case and can provide troubleshooting tips? In particular, it would be interesting to know how the problem was solved in the workshop and what experience you have had with it. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2012 BMW 3 series, I would say I have a small amount of experience with cars. After my visit to the garage, it was an error in the coding of the steering angle sensor. They fixed it and I had to pay 195 euros. It is now working perfectly again. Could you give me more details about your car? Maybe then I can help you better. You could probably have the same problem, but without more information I can't say for sure.

Hey, thanks for your help! Well, my BMW has 134752 km on it now and the last service was 6 months ago, but everything seemed to be okay then. Maybe I should really go to the garage and have the steering angle sensor checked. Your tip was very helpful, thanks again!

Hey, no problem, I'm glad to hear that! Yes, that definitely sounds like a visit to the garage. I would recommend that you do a diagnostic for the steering angle sensor. If that's what it is, then get it fixed - don't have to think about it too much. In my case, everything worked perfectly again afterwards. All the best!

Thank you very much for your advice and support. I will definitely go to the garage and have the things you mentioned checked. It's reassuring to know that your problem has been solved there too. I hope everything goes smoothly for me too. Have a good day and all the best!

Hi! In order to be able to help you, it would be helpful to have a few details about your vehicle. Which vehicle is it? Year of manufacture and kilometers would also be interesting. When and how does the fault become noticeable? Can you read out the fault memory again to see what else it has stored? Greetings Max

Hello Benny it is a bmw x1 e84 2009 xdrive 3.0liter petrol has now exactly 180'000km it actually drives great no problems like before without the problem on the transfer case was never done what the previous owner told me he wanted to program it but without success may be due to the water do not know now yes now with carly adapter he shows me some error codes such as.e.g. 005F3A,006F8F,00CF80,00521C,00521E maybe it's just a small problem and the errors clear themselves after the repair but I really don't know what the problem is or if it just needs an oil change in the transfer case I really don't have a plan need help

Hello I am Frano Drive BMW x5 e70 3.0d 2009 with knap 300tkm. 5 days ago I got error 4x4 DSC ABS failed. Thought it was because of rain because it had rained too much. I read out the error with Carly and the result was VTG actuator defective Bought and fitted a new one today but the error still remains and has not changed at all. Still only driving with rear-wheel drive. It still drives as well as before no noises or jerking everything 1A but error still there. Could it be that I need to calibrate the new servomotor or something else? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hello Frano, First of all, you reacted exactly right to this fault. What I would still recommend, however, is to change the oil in the distributor gear. Normally the whole thing should work without calibration, but BMW has a test procedure that should be carried out if the servomotor has been repaired. But if I understand correctly, you have replaced the entire servomotor. The plug connections were all ok? Did you use an original spare part?
