Problems with ABS systems and airbag warning light in the Peugeot 207: Possible steering angle sensor fault

Airbag warning light

ABS/DSC system is not working

Fault stored

Hello everyone, I have a problem with my Peugeot 207 (built in 2013, petrol engine). The ABS systems are not working properly and the airbag warning light keeps coming on. There is also an error stored. I think the steering angle sensor could be the culprit. Has anyone ever had similar problems and can give me some tips? Would like to know how the workshop solved this and what their experiences were before I go to the workshop. Many thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 206 (model year 2011, gasoline). Mine also kept showing this ABS error and the airbag light wouldn't go off. I only have a little bit of experience with cars, so I went to my garage. The guys there found that the cable connection to the sensor was faulty. That cost me 155 euros, but after that everything was fine again. Could you please give me more details about your car, such as the exact fault codes? Maybe I can help you more precisely.

Hey, thanks for your reply. Yes, you're right, error codes would be helpful, but unfortunately I don't have them to hand. I'll have to see if the garage can help me with that. A friend of mine also said that the cable connection to the sensors can sometimes go haywire. Incidentally, my Peugeot has only just cracked the 36925 km mark. So it hasn't run much for its age. And yes, it's been a while since the last service, but most of the time it runs like a charm. It's just annoying that this stupid display lights up in the middle of winter.

Hey, no problem. Well, with your Peugeot 207 and just 36925 km on the clock, this sensor shouldn't really be a problem, but you never know. Maybe it's just a cable problem, like on my old 206. Your best bet is to actually go to a garage and have the guys there take a look at it. I mean, it can probably be fixed without you spending a fortune. In any case, I wish you good luck and that you get the problem solved quickly, especially now in winter. Driving with an illuminated airbag warning is not exactly reassuring. And please, if possible, post the error codes. Maybe that could help others here in the forum. Take care!

Hello again and thanks for the kind words! Yes, I also hope that it's "just" a cable problem. I'm going to the garage tomorrow and hopefully we'll know more then. The story with the error codes is a good thing, I hadn't thought of that. I'll post it here as soon as I have it. Maybe it will really help someone else. Thanks again for the help and don't worry, I'm definitely not driving any more while that warning light is on - road safety comes first of course. Take care and maybe see you next time here on the forum!
