Problems with ABS system in Renault Talisman 2022: looking for solutions and experiences

Hi guys, I have serious problems with my Renault Talisman year 2022 with gasoline engine. It starts with the ABS warning light, the ABS system stops working, the warning light in the speedometer comes on and errors are stored. It occurs to me that this might have something to do with the speed signal. Has anyone here ever experienced something like this and can give advice on how to solve the problem? I would be very grateful to hear your experiences, especially if you have already had it fixed at a garage. I'm really looking for suggested solutions and not just guesswork. Many thanks in advance!

Summary of the thread

A 2022 Renault Talisman owner is experiencing issues with the ABS system, indicated by a warning light and stored errors. The problem might be related to the speed signal. A similar issue in another Renault model was resolved by replacing a faulty ABS control unit. It is suggested to read the fault memory to diagnose the problem accurately and consider replacing the ABS control unit if necessary.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2020 Renault Mégane, although I'm not a car specialist, I do have a bit of experience in fixing things. I took my car to my local garage and the mechanics there were able to determine that the ABS control unit was faulty. They then replaced it for me and it cost 1000 euros. Maybe that could be the case for you too. However, I need more detailed information about your vehicle to be able to help you. For example, how many kilometers have you driven and when was the last time you had a service carried out? Hopefully that will help.

Hey, thanks for your input. I have already driven my Talisman 132797 km and the last service was just recently. So an ABS control unit defect could indeed be the cause. I think I should perhaps have the fault memory read out. Thanks for the advice!

Hello again, yes, I would proceed in exactly the same way. Reading out the fault memory is definitely the first step to clearly see what's going on. In my case, the ABS control unit was the culprit, but you know, with so many kilometers many parts can start to cause problems. And even if the ABS control unit needs replacing, don't be discouraged. The 1000 euros may be a lot of money, but compared to a new car, it's still much cheaper. Unfortunately, this is part of owning a car. Good luck with it and I hope your problem is solved quickly. Let us know how it goes!

Thank you very much for the encouragement. You're absolutely right, replacing the ABS control unit is still cheaper than buying a new car. I will certainly have the fault memory read out and then decide how to proceed. I also hope that the problem will be solved soon. In any case, I'll keep you up to date and report what the next diagnosis reveals. Your experience and advice have really helped me. Thanks again for that!
