Hi, thanks for your reply! My C Max has 86304 km on it now, and the last service was only a few months ago. So the car is in pretty good condition, except of course for this stupid ABS problem. The ABS control unit, huh? Expensive little thing! Was it a new part or did you install a used one? Maybe I could have the fault memory read out first before blindly replacing parts. What do you think?

Hey, you're absolutely right, it really is an expensive part! In my case it was a new part, but maybe you can find a used one, that would certainly be cheaper. Reading out the fault memory is definitely a good idea! That way you can at least identify the specific fault instead of blindly replacing parts. If it really is the ABS control unit, you could still consider which is more worthwhile: a new part or a used one. And who knows, maybe it's a completely different fault. It's always good to find out exactly what's wrong first. Good luck with that!

Hello, thank you very much for the tips! I think reading out the fault memory is definitely the next logical step. I'll have a look around to see if I can find a used ABS control unit, if that's really what it is. A new part would of course always be the safest option, but if I could save a bit, that wouldn't be bad either. The whole thing is really annoying, but I hope it can be fixed soon. Thanks again and have a nice day!

Hello, before you install a new control unit, I would first check all the cable connections to the ABS sensors on the wheel. It is not possible that a cable is simply defective due to oxidation or incorrect routing. If a circuit diagram is available, the wiring harness from the sensor to the control unit can of course also be checked. MFG

Hi, I had a pretty similar problem with my 2019 Ford B Max. I'm not a car professional, but have a bit of experience whirling around with a wrench. After a bit of trial and error and a few visits to the garage, it turned out that the ABS control unit was faulty. Cost me 1000 euros to fix it! Can you perhaps tell me a bit more about your car? I might then be able to help a bit more specifically.
