ABS warning light

Hey guys, I have a strange problem with my Renault Latitude petrol engine, year of manufacture 2015. since some time the ABS warning light is on, the ABS system does not work, the warning light in the speedometer is on and an error is stored. I suspect that the functional limitation of the ABS system could be to blame. Have any of you ever had similar symptoms and can give me some tips? I would like to know what your garage did to fix the problem. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, I own a 2013 Renault Megane and I have some experience with cars. Had the same problem with my car and it turned out that the ABS relay was faulty. I had it checked at a garage and they replaced it for me. It cost about 90 euros, so it's not a huge investment. The warning light then went out and everything has worked perfectly ever since! To help me help you better, it would be helpful to know more about your car. Have you done any updates or repairs recently? Is your engine otherwise running smoothly? Please let me know all the relevant details so I can better help you with your issue. Hopefully it's just the relay and nothing too expensive or complicated to pay off or remove. Hope this helps you a bit!

Hello, thanks for the quick reply! Last month it was due for an update, so I got a software update and the oil change was also done. Since then the car has run 142548 km and everything has run smoothly so far. No major repairs, just minor regular service work. I also hope that it's just the ABS relay. Will have it checked at the garage. Thanks again!

Hey, no problem, glad if I could help! It sounds like your car is generally well maintained and doesn't have too many miles on it. So it really could be the ABS relay and I'll keep my fingers crossed that it's not a major problem. Let the garage know what you suspect and let them know about the software update and the oil change you did last month, as it's also possible that problems like this can occur after updates. They may also have a solution if the software update caused the problem. In any case, stay cool, it's usually less serious than you think. Keep me posted and if there's anything else I can do to help, let me know. All the best!

Hey, thanks for all this info! Definitely a good tip to point out the recent software update and oil change to the garage. I'll describe the problem in detail and hope it really is just the ABS relay. I'm relieved that it's usually not as bad as you think. I'll keep you posted and get back to you if I need further help. Thank you so much for your help!
