Hey, thanks for your feedback. My Auris currently has 142934 km on the clock. The last service was a few months ago. Your story sounds reassuring that it doesn't always have to be the brake pedal position sensor. 1000 euros doesn't sound like a bargain, but it's still better than a completely new car. I think I'll have it checked at the garage and see what happens. Thanks again for the input!

Hey, no problem, you're welcome! Your mileage is quite high and that may well play a role. It would also be good to know if your Auris showed any abnormalities before these problems occurred. On my Avensis, I had noticed weeks before that the performance had dropped off a bit. But it's always a good idea to have the car checked at the garage to get a more accurate diagnosis. I was lucky that the repair only cost 1000 euros. Ultimately, the fault can be in many places, not necessarily the brake pedal position sensor. Let's hope for the best for you and your Auris! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the encouraging words. It's true, he's already covered quite a few kilometers and that may actually have something to do with it. I couldn't think of anything immediately, but I'll think about it again. Good point that the fault could lie elsewhere. So I'll definitely book a workshop appointment and hope for the best. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, I'm no expert, but I had a similar problem with my 2014 Toyota Avensis. My ABS had also failed and the warning lights in the cockpit came on. At the garage, it turned out that the control unit was faulty. The repair cost me 1000 euros. So it's possible that this is also your problem. But without more information about your car (e.g. mileage, maintenance history, etc.), it's difficult to give more precise advice. Do you have more information?
