Problems with ABS and electric power steering on Toyota CHR (2017)

Hello folks! My Toyota CHR (year of manufacture 2017, gasoline engine) is making atypical noises. ABS is not working, power steering is off and the steering wheel is vibrating totally. Could this be a signal error in the electric power steering? Have you ever experienced something like this and how did you get it sorted out in the workshop? I would be grateful for any tips!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2015 Prius, also from Toyota. I have to admit, I'm not exactly a car expert, but I do have a bit of an idea. The workshop found a defect in the control unit. The repair cost 415.0 euros. Of course, it may be something else with your model. Do you have any more information about your car? Mileage, last service, etc.? Then perhaps I can help you further.

Yes, thanks for the tip! My car currently has 107324 KM on the clock and the last service was recently. I think I'll tell my garage about your control unit problem. Maybe it's something similar. Thanks again!

No problem, you're welcome! If you have these symptoms, I would definitely have the control unit checked. With over 100,000 KM, it may well be that something is wrong, and problems often manifest themselves in the form of various error messages and failures. You may also have a defect in the power steering, which could explain the vibrations. If the problem has nothing to do with the control unit, I would also have the power steering checked. When you go to the garage, simply mention both scenarios. The guys there already have their expertise and will be able to sort it out quickly. Good luck with that!

Great, thanks for the advice! I'll also keep the power steering thing in mind. I feel better now that I have an idea of what the problem might be. I'll definitely get back to you as soon as my car is out of the garage. Take care and thanks again!
