Problem with the tire pressure indicator on the Peugeot 4007 petrol engine (2009)

Tire pressure to low

Hey guys, I've got a problem with my 2009 Peugeot 4007 petrol car. The tire pressure indicator just goes crazy and constantly shows low pressure, even when I've already pumped up the tires. Could this be due to a signal error from the tire pressure sensor? Have any of you had experience with this or even had a similar problem fixed in the garage? I'm really grateful for any tips that might help me!

Hello, I have had a relatively similar problem with my Peugeot 3008 Diesel, built in 2007. The control unit for the tire pressure monitoring system was also defective in my Peugot. Although I'm not a car professional, I have a bit of experience because I do minor work myself. My garage replaced the control unit and then everything worked perfectly again. The cost was around 355 euros. Your problem could definitely be related to this. Are all tires affected or just a specific one? How old are the tires? Any additional information could help to better understand the problem. Hopefully my experience has helped you a little!

First of all, thanks for your quick reply. All my tires are affected so far and the tires are fairly new, I only changed them 6 months ago. My mileage is 163409 km and I had the last service done about 5000 km ago. I will follow your advice and think about checking the control unit for the tire pressure monitoring system. The cost is quite high, but if it solves the problem, it's definitely worth it. Do you have any other tips for me?

Hey, you're welcome! Glad my experience could help you a bit. You're doing everything right by considering checking the ECU. It definitely solved the problem for me. You could also check the tire pressure again when the tires are cold, because the pressure is always slightly higher when they are warm. Maybe this is the fault? And another point that just occurred to me: Have the sensors in the tires checked as well. They could also have a problem. However, the costs for this are normally lower than for a new control unit. But as I said, I'm not a professional. And if it's too expensive for you, feel free to ask another garage. A comparison is always worthwhile. Keep me posted and good luck!

Hey, thanks again for your further tips and advice. I will definitely check the tire pressure again when cold and also have it checked to see if the sensors in the tires might be damaged. The idea of getting a second opinion from another garage is also a good one, I'll check again. Thanks for your support, I'll let you know if I find out anything new. Bye and have a nice day!
