Problem with the parking distance control and electrical malfunctions in the 2015 Ford Territory petrol engine

Park distance control without function

General electric malfunction

Fault stored

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2015 Ford Territory petrol car. Suddenly the parking distance control doesn't work, general electrical malfunction, error stored and warning light in the speedometer lights up. I think it might have something to do with the radar sensor. Have any of you ever experienced something like this and can give me some tips on what I could do? Would love to hear how your garage solved the problem. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Ford Escape, so same brand, just a little older. I honestly only have a little experience with cars, but I hope I can help anyway. It turned out that one of my sensors was dirty. After I took the car to my garage, they just cleaned it and the problem was solved. It only cost me 45 euros, so it wasn't that expensive. But to be more specific about your problem, I could use some more information. For example, whether you have recently driven in a very dirty environment or whether the sensor has taken a knock. With this information I might be able to help you better. Hope that helps for now.

Hi, thanks for your reply! Regarding your question, I was actually off-road last weekend, so the sensor may well have been damaged. Interesting that it was only the sensor and that you got off so cheaply. I'll take a look at it first or have it checked at my garage. Hopefully it's nothing serious. After my last inspection at 68287 km, everything was running perfectly. But thanks for the tip, it helped me a lot.

Hello again! I'm glad I could help you. Yes, off-road driving can definitely leave traces and affect the sensors. So it's best to take a really close look at the radar sensor or take it to the workshop. They should be able to identify the problem quite quickly if it really is just a dirty or damaged sensor. And I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't get more expensive! Just make sure you always keep an eye on the sensors from now on, especially after off-road trips. Stay safe! You're welcome and good luck!

Hi, you're right, off-road driving can easily get a lot of dirt into the sensors. I will definitely take your advice to heart and have a closer look at the sensor, or perhaps I should have it checked in the workshop to be on the safe side. I also hope it's nothing serious and won't be too costly. It's good to know that it could just be the sensor. Thanks for your time and helpful advice. You stay safe too!
