Problem with the headlight range adjustment on the Opel Cascada 2016: Adjusting the dipped and main beam headlights

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Low beam and high beam seems too high or too low

Hey guys, I have a problem with my 2016 Opel Cascada. The low and high beams are either too high or too low and the warning light in my speedometer is constantly flashing. I suspect it could be due to the headlight leveling system. Have any of you had experience with this problem and can give me some troubleshooting tips? How did you get it fixed at the garage and what were your experiences? Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Opel Insignia. I'm not a car mechanic either, but I do have some experience when it comes to cars. On my car, the headlight control unit was defective. The solution was to replace the control unit in the workshop, which cost me 630 euros. But it could also be a different problem in your case. Can you provide more information about your vehicle, such as the exact type and whether there are any other symptoms? That would really help us to be able to help you better.

Hey, thanks for your feedback. My car has already run 176858 km, but I haven't had any problems since the last service about 5000 km ago. It's an Opel Cascada with a gasoline engine. No other symptoms have actually occurred. The light problem started unexpectedly and now the warning light keeps flashing. I hope it's not expensive damage.

Hey, thanks for the info. Well, given the mileage, it could be that something is simply worn out due to age. In my Insignia, it was the control unit for the headlights that was defective, and I never actually encountered any problems after that. As your warning light is flashing, this could also be the case for you. But it could also just be a problem with the headlight range adjustment mechanism itself or a fault in the system that has messed up the control unit. I would advise you to have the error read out by a workshop first. This is usually quite quick and not particularly expensive. Then you'll at least have a rough idea of what the problem is. I hope that helps you!

Hey, thanks for the advice. I think you're right and I should take the car to the garage for a check-up. It's reassuring to hear that I'm not the only one with this problem and it seems feasible to fix it. I really appreciate your help and will keep you posted on how it turns out. Thanks again!
