Problem with the automatic window and exterior mirror heating in the Toyota CHR 2017

Heated windows without function

|

Fault stored

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Toyota CHR, petrol engine, year of manufacture 2017. There seems to be something wrong with the heating of the windows and exterior mirrors. The windows heat up without me turning it on and errors are stored. I'm wondering if it could be the mirror heater. Have any of you experienced this before and can give me tips on how to fix the problem? I would be happy to share experiences and advice.

Hey, I once had a similar problem with my Toyota RAV4, built in 2015. I noticed that my windows and exterior mirrors were also heated for no reason. I'm not a car expert, but I've had quite a bit of experience with cars over the years. Careful diagnostic tests were carried out at my garage and it turned out that the control unit was faulty. It cost me around 475.0 euros to replace it and the problem has since been fixed. But to be able to help you better, I would need a bit more info about your car. Can you tell me if there are any other symptoms or fault codes displayed and what mileage your Toyota CHR has?

Hi, thanks for your reply! My CHR has already done 179332 kilometers, but the last service was only recently. I can't see any other fault codes at the moment, but it's a pain to see the window heater just running like that. Your experience with the control unit sounds plausible though. Maybe I should have it checked at the garage. What do you think?

Hey, no problem! Well, with your mileage, components could well give up the ghost. As with my RAV4, your CHR could also have a fault in the control unit. I would definitely recommend reading out the fault memory and a thorough diagnosis in the workshop. That should provide clarity. However, if it really is the control unit, the repair could cost something. See if the repair is covered by your warranty, if you still have one. Hope that helps you. Let me know how it goes. Good luck, buddy!

Hi, thanks for the tips! I'll take your advice and plan a workshop visit. I'll also have to check the warranty issue. I hope it won't be too expensive, of course. I'll get back to you as soon as I know more. Keep your fingers crossed for me, friends!
