Problem with the air conditioning in the Audi A8 (2012): Warm air and failure of the A/C system

Air conditioning blows warm air

Hi, I have a strange problem with my 2012 Audi A8, petrol engine, the air conditioning is just blowing warm air and not cooling properly and it looks like the A/C system is not working. I think this could be due to the interior temperature sensor signal error, but I'm not sure. Have any of you ever had a similar problem and can give me some tips? How did you solve it in the workshop and what were your experiences? Many thanks in advance!

Hi, I actually had a similar problem in my Audi A6, petrol engine, built in 2010. So I'm not a car specialist, but I have sometimes tinkered with my own car. I took my car to the garage and it turned out that the cable connection to the sensor was faulty. The repair cost 110 euros. Could you perhaps provide some additional information about your vehicle so that I can help you more accurately? For example, exactly which model or year it is?

Moin, my mileage is 90750 km and my last inspection was at 85900 km. I don't have any mods on the car, it's the standard model. At the garage they said I should come by with it, but if I could solve it myself that would be great. Anyway, thanks for your help!

Hi, thanks for the additional information. It seems it really could be a signal error in the cabin temperature sensor. But it could also have other reasons, like a faulty compressor or a leak in the coolant line. I understand that you would like to solve it yourself, but without a precise diagnosis it could be difficult. My recommendation: definitely take it to the garage, the diagnosis shouldn't be too expensive and then you'll know exactly what's wrong and can decide if you want to fix it yourself. Good luck with that!

Okay, thanks for the advice. I was hoping maybe there was an easy fix, but you're right, I should probably get it checked professionally. I will take the car to the garage next week and will get back to you then. Thanks so much for your help!
