Problem with illuminated airbag warning light in Opel Ampera 2015 - experiences and solutions wanted

Airbag warning light

Fault stored

Hello everyone, I have a strange problem with my Opel Ampera from 2015 with a gasoline engine. The airbag warning light is illuminated and there is an error in the memory. Could this possibly be a failure of the airbag system? Have any of you experienced this before and maybe have a tip for me on how it was fixed at the garage? I would love to hear about your experiences and understand how best to tackle the problem. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have experienced a similar problem with my 2013 Opel Astra. My experience with cars is quite limited, but I have learned a few things. I took my car to the garage and had them check it. It turned out that some components of the airbag system were defective. Luckily it was covered under warranty and cost me 0.0 euros. Could you perhaps give a little more information about your car? For example, how many kilometers has it driven? This could help to get a better idea of the problem and help you further.

Hey, good to know that you've solved the problem. My Ampera has around 150382 km on the clock. The last service was recently, but this airbag problem has only just started. I hope this helps you.

Hey, thanks for the additional info. Mileage like that can definitely have an effect on various parts of the car, including the airbag system. The problem with my Astra was that a component of the system had to be replaced due to wear and tear. It could also be that your Ampera needs a component replaced. To be honest, with such a specific problem, I would really recommend having it checked by a specialist. After all, the airbag is also a safety issue and therefore not something that should be treated lightly. As you say that the last service was only recently, you could perhaps talk to the garage again. Perhaps the problem is related to something that was done during the service. In any case, good luck with it, hopefully it won't be too expensive!

Hi, thanks for the advice! Yes, safety definitely comes first. I will speak to the service center and have the airbag system checked by a professional. Hopefully it's nothing serious and can be fixed quickly. I'll keep you up to date. Thanks again!
