I took my car to a garage, which replaced the wiring harness. It cost me about 95 euros. What symptoms does your car show exactly and are there any gauges on the dashboard?

Ah, that brings me right back to my experience. With my Berlingo, the vehicle also made this clicking noise and the engine simply wouldn't start. It turned out to be the starter motor - it was broken. An obvious case for the garage. I decided to have it replaced at the time and it cost me around 150 euros. However, I can't guarantee whether it's the exact same fault, it could just as easily be the ignition switch or the battery. Especially as you say that an engine problem indicator is flashing. My tip would be to have it checked at a garage. Good luck with that!
