Problem with high beam indicator after lamp change

Error in the lighting

Hi, I have a 2012/2013 Toyota Yaris. After changing the halogen bulbs and the parking bulbs, I have noticed that my high beam indicator is dimly lit on the dashboard. It turns off when I have the parking light plus car light mode on, but in the other modes it is on. When I turn on the high beam, the symbol glows brightly as before. What could be wrong? This has never happened before. I would appreciate any help I can get, as the car is due for inspection this week.

Check if the new bulbs are correctly installed and ensure they are the correct type for your vehicle. Sometimes, incorrect or improperly seated bulbs can cause electrical issues like a dimly lit indicator. If the problem persists, it might be worth checking the wiring and connections for any signs of damage or corrosion. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hello! Thank you for your quick reply. The halogen and incandescent bulbs are suitable for my car, I have carefully checked this together with the technician in the store where they were purchased. Try checking the headlight relay, as a faulty relay can cause unusual electrical behavior. Swap it with a similar relay in the fuse box to see if the issue persists. If the problem continues, it might be best to have a professional inspect it, especially since your car is due for inspection soon. Let me know if this helps or if you have more questions!

Absolutely, do you know which one it could be? In the manual I can't find anything that matches the relay and fuse box descriptions. Found and checked the fuses and there is nothing wrong with them.

The headlight relay is often located in the engine compartment fuse box. Look for a diagram on the fuse box cover or in the owner's manual that indicates the relay positions. If it's not clear, you might want to consult a repair manual specific to your Yaris model or ask a professional to help identify it. Let me know if you need further assistance!
