Problem with frozen spray nozzles on Ford Maverick 2005 - possible defect in the spray nozzle heater

Spray nozzles frozen

Hi guys, I have a strange problem with my 2005 Ford Maverick, gasoline engine. The spray nozzles are frozen and I think it might be a problem with the spray nozzle heater. Has anyone experienced this before and knows what exactly it could be and how to solve it in the workshop? Would be great if you could share your experiences with me, thanks!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my 2007 Ford Escape. I'm not an automotive professional, but I do have some experience with cars. I then drove to my regular garage. It turned out that the cable connection was defective and had to be repaired. I paid 95 euros for it. Could you please give me a few more details about your vehicle? Then I might be able to help you better. Good luck, hope this helps you!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! To share more details, my Maverick currently has 60442 km down. The last service was quite recent, so I can actually rule out technical issues, right? A cable fault sounds plausible though. Do you happen to know how I can check this myself before I go to the garage? Maybe I can save myself a few euros that way.

Hi again, sure, no problem, I'll be happy to help you. Well, I couldn't immediately identify the problem with my Escape either. At first I thought the set was defective or something. A buddy then told me to check the cables and connections. They are normally located in the engine compartment, near the spray nozzles. You can check whether everything is connected correctly or whether there might be a cable break. But be careful, without precise knowledge this can quickly become dangerous. A test with a multimeter could provide further information. However, you should know that it is not always easy to find such defects on your own. Maybe just give it a try and if you don't find anything, you can always call in a professional. I think it's definitely worth a try. Good luck with it, and let me know what comes out of it!

Hello again and thanks for the detailed answer! I think I'll follow your advice and check the cables first. I'm not really experienced in this regard, but my neighbor is an electrician and could certainly help me out with the multimeter. I really have nothing to lose by trying it myself first. Thanks again for the help, I'll get back to you as soon as I have any news!
