Problem with code 4030 and engine temperature on BMW 1

The engine takes considerably longer to reach operating temperature

Hi all, I have a 2007 BMW 1 with 194500 km and I am experiencing some problems. The engine is taking much longer to reach operating temperature and I am also getting error code 4030. has anyone had a similar experience and could advise me on how to fix it? thanks in advance!

Start by checking the thermostat, as it might be stuck open, causing the engine to take longer to reach operating temperature. If the thermostat is faulty, replacing it should resolve the issue. Let us know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

The engine picks up 90 degrees, it is the particulate filter that does not pick up enough temperature marks -50 degrees with the engine cold.

Check the temperature sensor for the particulate filter. A faulty sensor could be giving incorrect readings, affecting the filter's performance. Inspect the wiring and connections for any damage or corrosion. If the sensor is faulty, replacing it should help. Let us know if this resolves the issue or if you need further assistance.
