Problem with airbag and ABS warning lights on VW Golf (2006): Suspected fault in the lateral acceleration sensor

Hello community, I have a problem with my VW Golf (gasoline, year of manufacture 2006). The airbag and ABS warning lights are on and the ABS/DSC system is no longer working properly. I suspect that the fault could be with the lateral acceleration sensor. Have any of you ever had a problem like this and can help me? How did you solve it in the workshop? Hello, I have a 2004 VW Passat and had a similar problem. I was told that the ABS/DSC control unit was defective. I would classify myself as someone with little knowledge of cars. To fix this, I had to take my car to the garage. The guys there were really great, they replaced the car control unit and it has been running perfectly ever since. But the whole thing cost me 1000 euros. Could you perhaps tell me a bit more about your car? How many kilometers has it done and when was the last time you had it serviced? Hey, thanks for your quick reply. My Golf already has almost 200000 km on it, so 197290 km to be exact. Last service was just recently, so the car is otherwise in good condition. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the lateral acceleration sensor, but I hope I can get away with it a bit more cheaply than you. Although 1000 euros for a new ECU isn't really that much when you consider what a part like that costs. Thanks again for your help!
