Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

Hey guys, I have a problem with my Peugeot 406 Diesel (year 2001). The ABS warning light is on, the ABS system is not working, there is a warning light in the speedometer and a fault is stored. Speed signal faulty could be a possible cause. Do you have any experience with such a fault and can you give me some troubleshooting tips? How was the problem solved in your workshop? I look forward to hearing your experiences. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Peugeot 408 Diesel (built in 2003). The ABS warning light came on too, very annoying.... I'm fairly new to cars, so I went to my local mechanic. Turned out the ABS control unit was faulty. Cost me 1000 euros to get it fixed. A lot of money, but after that the problem was fixed. It would be very helpful if you could tell me a bit more about your car, have you noticed any other symptoms? Is there a particular pattern to when the warning light comes on? That might help to better solve the problem. I hope this helps a little!

Hey, thanks for the advice! I haven't noticed any other pattern on my Peugeot with 86208 KM on the speedo, which could indicate the ABS control unit. The warning light comes on and off randomly. The last service was about 3,000 KM ago and they couldn't find anything. I will take your tip and visit the mechanic. It's expensive, but safety first. Thanks again for your help!

Hey, no problem! Good on you for keeping an eye on safety. If the warning light goes on and off randomly on your Peugeot and you can't see any particular pattern, then it does sound like a possible problem with the ABS control unit - as was the case with my car. It could also be a problem with the speed sensor, but that's unlikely as the warning lights should actually remain constant. But sometimes such faults manifest themselves in strange ways. I would definitely recommend having it checked by a professional. It's annoying when it costs money, but when it comes to safety, it's worth it. Wish you good luck with it and let us know what comes out!

In any case, safety comes first. I will listen to your advice and take my Peugeot to the garage for a check-up. It's annoying because of the cost, but as you said, when it comes to safety, it's worth it. I'll get back to you as soon as I have any news. Thanks again for your help and advice!
