Power loss and ABS problems with Citroen DS4 Diesel 2011

Loss of engine power

ABS/DSC system is not working

Loss of traction

Hey guys, my 2011 Citroen DS4 Diesel, with almost 150,000 kilometers on the clock, is giving me quite a headache. There is loss of power from the engine, the ABS warning light comes on, loss of traction is obvious and the ABS/DSC system doesn't seem to be working at all. I suspect it could be a problem with the supply voltage to the speed sensor (ABS). Have you ever had similar problems and what are your experiences with the workshops? Unfortunately, I had a pretty bad experience at the mechanic last time and could therefore use a few tips. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I drive a 2008 Citroen C4 Picasso, so I had a similar problem with my ECU. Back then it was a serious fault that had to be corrected. A couple of problems I had were extremely similar to yours, plus loss of engine power and ABS/DSC system failure. Your guess could be completely correct - the supply voltage to the speed sensor was faulty on mine. The mechanic replaced the control unit and checked the solder joints and wiring. The symptoms changed immediately after the control unit was repaired. I hope this helps you a little. Good luck with it!

Hey, thanks for your feedback! That sounds a lot like my situation. Can you remember what you paid for the repair and replacement of the control unit? I don't want to get ripped off. And has anything else given up the ghost since then or has your car been running smoothly again? Thank you in advance!

Hey, no problem, always happy to help! Back then, I spent around €1000 on replacing the control unit. Sure, that's a lot of money, but since then the car has been running like a dream again. And to answer your second question: Yes, since the visit to the mechanic, the fault with the supply voltage to the speed sensor (ABS) has also been rectified. Nothing has given up the ghost since then, neither ABS nor anything else. Everything runs smoothly and perfectly. I hope this helps you! And don't get ripped off!

Hey, thank you very much! Your answer really helps me and reassures me a little. Of course, €1000 is a lot of money, but what can you do if you're dependent on the car. The important thing is that everything works afterwards. Then I'll probably have to pay a visit to the mechanic and hopefully everything will run just as smoothly as it did for you! Thanks again for your help and advice!
