Possible causes of problems with DPF regeneration and the check engine light on Audi Q7 2019 Diesel

Warning light in the speedometer of the vehicle

DPF regeneration failure

Hello car enthusiasts, I have a strange problem with my Audi Q7 2019 diesel. The check engine light is on, the DPF regeneration doesn't seem to be working and a warning light is also illuminated in the speedometer. I suspect it may have something to do with the pressure sensor for the AdBlue, but I'm not sure. Has anyone had similar experiences or any tips on how I can narrow down the problem? How did you solve the situation in the workshop and what was your experience? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello, thank you for your reply! Yes, the mileage is 256871 km. I haven't really changed anything on the car recently. The only thing I've done is regular maintenance. An ad-blue warning light isn't illuminated, but I'll definitely keep an eye on that and possibly ask a mechanic about it. Hopefully it won't cost as much as your Q5. Thanks for the tip!

Hello, I also had a similar problem with my Audi A6 2018 Diesel. In my case, it was actually the pressure sensor for the system. The garage then read it out using their diagnostic device and found that the sensor was faulty. The cost of the sensor, installation and calibration was just over 400 euros. Good luck and hopefully it's nothing too serious!

Hello, I had a similar problem with my Audi Q5 2018 Diesel. I had a faulty ad-blue tank. It cost me about 1200 euros to have it repaired by a garage. But in my case the warning light for the Ad-blue system was on, not the engine light. But each case could be different. Could you give me some additional information about your car? Mileage, anything you've changed recently, etc. It might help me help you more accurately.

Many thanks for the reply and the helpful tip! It's good to know that it could actually be the pressure sensor. 400 euros isn't exactly cheap either, but at least it's less than the defective Ad-Blue tank at LMBaumannRider. I'll take it to the workshop to get a precise diagnosis. In the event that it really is the pressure sensor, I will then know roughly what costs I should expect. Thanks again for your help!

The mycarly odb can calibrate a replaced dpf sensor.

@Pedro

The mycarly odb can calibrate a replaced dpf sensor.

Pedro, that's a good point. Using an OBD scanner like mycarly can indeed help in calibrating a replaced DPF sensor. However, it's important to note that not all OBD scanners have this capability, and it's also crucial to follow the correct procedure to avoid causing any further issues. AFspeedy, please let us know how it goes at the workshop and if you have any further questions.
