Porsche Cayenne Nav Screen Dies: Repair Costs & Solutions

Navigationssystem is not working

Hey everyone, my 2017 Porsche Cayenne Hybrid's navigation system suddenly stopped working. The screen is completely dead but other functions seem fine. Has anyone dealt with this issue? I'd really like to know what the repair involved and rough costs if you've had it fixed at a workshop. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hey there! I've had some experience with car electronics and went through something very similar with my 2019 Porsche Panamera Hybrid last year. The display issue was exactly what you're describing, blank screen but everything else working fine. Took it to my regular workshop, and it turned out the display unit itself was faulty and needed replacement. The whole thing, including parts and labor, set me back about 725€. Not cheap, but it was worth fixing since these systems are pretty essential nowadays. Before sharing more specific advice, could you tell me if you're getting any error messages or if the screen died gradually or suddenly? Also, have you tried the basic reset by holding down the power button? This info would help me understand if you're dealing with the same issue I had. Take care!

Thanks for sharing your experience! My screen just went completely black out of nowhere last Tuesday. No error messages, no warning signs, just completely dead. I've tried the reset multiple times but no luck. Mine's got 117994 KM on the clock and just had its service last month, so this is pretty frustrating. It's good to know roughly what the cost might be, though I was hoping it wouldn't be that expensive! Did you get yours fixed at an official Porsche dealer or an independent workshop?

Hey again! Yeah, that sounds exactly like what happened to my Panamera. It's super frustrating when these things just die without warning, right? I actually got mine fixed at an independent workshop I've been using for years, Auto Excellence in Munich. They're Porsche specialists and usually charge less than the official dealers. Just a heads up, I originally mentioned it cost me 725€, but I should add that prices might have gone up since last year. Also, just so you know, after getting it fixed, I haven't had any issues with it for the past 8 months. The new display works perfectly. One thing I didn't mention before, before taking it to the workshop, I did try disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes (like a super-reset), but that didn't help either. Sounds like you're experiencing the exact same issue I had. If you want, I can DM you the contact details of my workshop if you're anywhere near Munich. Let me know how it goes when you get it fixed! Always curious to hear if others have the same experience as I did with repairs like this.

Thanks so much for all the detailed info! That's super helpful, especially about the battery disconnect attempt, I might give that a try before heading to the workshop, even though it sounds like it probably won't solve the issue. I'm actually based in Frankfurt, so Munich's a bit far, but I really appreciate the offer! I've got a good independent Porsche specialist here that I'll probably take it to. Your experience has given me a good idea of what to expect cost-wise, so at least I won't be shocked when I get the quote. Will definitely let you know how it goes once it's fixed and what they end up charging. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it's made me feel a lot better about the whole situation!
