Peugeot 308 EPB Issues - Fault Codes C155D and C156C

Electical handbrake is not working

Hello everyone, I'm having some trouble with the electrical parking brake (EPB) on my Peugeot 308. A few warning lights have popped up on the dashboard and the EPB won't engage. I've run a scan and it's showing fault codes C155D and C156C. I've checked the connections and wiring but couldn't find anything obviously wrong. I've also measured the voltages at the pins on each side. The left side seems to be down a bit compared to the right, but I'm not sure what the readings should be. Can anyone help me understand what these fault codes refer to or suggest any other checks I could try? Also, I've been trying to put the brakes into the maintenance position using the Carly app but can't seem to find this function. Any guidance on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The fault codes C155D and C156C typically relate to issues with the EPB control module or the actuators. Since you've already checked the connections and wiring, I recommend inspecting the EPB actuators for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure that the actuators are receiving the correct voltage and are functioning properly. If you're unsure about the voltage readings, consult the vehicle's service manual for the correct specifications. If the issue persists, it might be best to have a professional mechanic inspect the system, as EPB issues can affect vehicle safety. Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions!

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I have ordered a second hand servo motor for the EPB from eBay. I will fit it when it arrives to see if it cures my problem. I am also looking at getting a Hayes service manual to help diagnose the fault.

Before replacing the servo motor, try resetting the EPB system by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes clear minor electronic glitches. Let me know if this helps or if you have any other questions!
