And since the repair, my Peugeot has been running like a champ again. Hey, I recently had a similar problem with my 2007 Peugeot 407 Diesel. The boost pressure regulator on mine was also electrically defective. The symptoms were almost identical to yours, black smoke, indicator light, bumpy engine and these hissing noises when accelerating. My mechanic then replaced the boost pressure regulator and that fixed everything. I would say it was a more serious matter, but fortunately not a total loss. A defective boost pressure controller can massively impair engine performance and even lead to engine damage if it is not fixed promptly. The replacement was then done quite quickly and afterwards my car ran like clockwork again. So, I would definitely recommend having it checked by a specialist. I hope you get it sorted quickly.
