Hey, yes, after that everything was back to normal for me. After the mechanic fixed the problem with the glow plug, my Auris ran like clockwork again and I had no more problems. And as for the cost: the repair cost me €560. That's not a lot of money, but in my opinion it was a worthwhile investment for the glow plug, which was defective due to wear. My Auris is now purring like a kitten again and there are no more strange symptoms. Hope this helps you. All the best!

Thanks for your quick reply. 560€ sounds like a lot at first, but when I think about it, it's an investment that will pay off for the longevity of my car. It's always good to know what to expect and the fact that your Auris is now running smoothly again gives me some peace of mind. I'll visit the garage tomorrow and hope for such a positive result. I feel a bit better about the whole thing now. Thanks again for your help and I hope your Auris continues to run smoothly. All the best!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2012 Toyota Auris Diesel. It was getting harder and harder to start and the engine light was on all the time. I had the same suspicion that a glow plug was broken, due to wear and tear. In the end, my assumption was correct. At the car service center, they determined that not just one, but all of the glow plugs needed to be replaced. The problem was serious because defective glow plugs lead to starting problems that could damage the engine and other parts. That's why the mechanic pressed for an immediate repair. I can well understand that you are worried because you have had bad experiences, but in my case everything was well organized and the repair was carried out professionally. So my advice: don't put it off, go to a garage you trust and have it checked. If it really is the glow plugs, replace them. It's a worthwhile investment in the longevity of your car and in your peace of mind. All the best!
