Permanent display of low tire pressure in Ford Galaxy 2010: Experience and workshop recommendations wanted

Hey guys! I have a small problem with my 2010 Ford Galaxy (gasoline, 106503 km run). The tire pressure indicator light constantly shows that the pressure is too low. Does anyone here have experience with similar problems? And what is your experience with garages after such incidents? I wasn't particularly happy with my last garage. Thank you!

Summary of the thread

A 2010 Ford Galaxy owner is experiencing a persistent low tire pressure warning light. A similar issue in a 2013 Ford S-Max was due to faulty communication between the ECUs, requiring professional diagnostics and adjustments to resolve. The suggested solution is to have the vehicle checked by a professional to address potential ECU communication issues, with the expectation that this will resolve the warning light problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2013 Ford S-Max. It turned out to be a sporadic faulty communication problem between the ECUs. I can understand how annoying it is to keep seeing this warning. My last visit to the garage was to fix this. They checked the communication module and all connected cables and it was indeed a serious issue. To solve it, they had to read the fault memory of the ECUs and check the bus communication. Fortunately, after some adjustments, the ECUs communicated normally again and the problem was solved. The only thing I can recommend is to have it checked by professionals and hopefully your experience will be better this time. Good luck!

Hey, pretty interesting information. There really seems to be something bigger behind my problem. Can you perhaps remember how expensive the whole thing was for you? And did you have any other problems afterwards or was everything okay? Thank you in advance!

Hey, I'm glad the information was helpful for you. So, I left €955 in the workshop to fix the sporadically faulty communication problem between the control units. It wasn't exactly cheap, but everything has been running smoothly ever since. And to come back to your other question: No, there were no further problems afterwards. So, despite all the prophecies of doom, the tire pressure issue was also resolved. No more annoying warning lights! But yes, make sure you have it looked at by a professional. Hopefully everything will be running smoothly again!

Hey, thanks for your detailed reply. That sounds like quite an investment, but if it really solves the problem, then it's probably worth the money. I'll have a look for a garage that can help me with this. Thanks again for your help and for the tip. I hope that everything runs smoothly again afterwards!
