Hey again! Glad I could help earlier. Since I got my Cayenne fixed at the specialist, everything's been running perfectly smooth, especially the speakerphone mic that was giving me grief before. The total bill came to 815€ for the whole infotainment system repair, which included replacing the defective control module and all the programming work. I know it wasn't cheap, but honestly, it was worth every penny to have everything working properly again. Haven't had a single issue since the repair, the nav, audio, and all other features are working just like new. My specialist did a fantastic job, and I'm really happy I chose to go with them instead of the dealership. If you're still on the fence about where to take yours, I'd definitely recommend finding a good independent Porsche specialist. They often provide more personal service and can be more transparent about what's actually going on with your car. Let me know if you need any other info or have questions about my experience with the repair!
Thanks a lot for all the details! I actually went ahead and took your advice about finding an independent specialist. Found a really good one about 30 minutes from my place. Funny enough, my issue turned out to be different from yours, it was actually a faulty wiring harness that was causing all the trouble. The repair cost me around 650€, which wasn't as bad as I was expecting. They got it done in just two days, and everything's working perfectly now. The specialist was super professional and explained everything clearly, unlike my previous experience at the dealership. They even showed me the damaged wiring and explained how it happened. Really glad I asked here first, saved me from another frustrating dealership visit! Thanks again for sharing your experience. It really helped me make the right decision. Will definitely keep this specialist for any future issues!
I had a similar issue with my 2018 Porsche Cayenne Diesel last winter. The entire infotainment system went dead, including nav and audio. Initially thought it was just a glitch, but after multiple restarts, nothing worked. Took it to my trusted independent Porsche specialist rather than the dealer. Turned out the main control module was defective and needed replacement. It wasn't just a simple software update, they had to replace the hardware completely. The whole repair took about 3 days because they had to program and sync the new unit. It's definitely not something you want to ignore, as the infotainment system is pretty much integrated with other vehicle functions. My mechanic mentioned this is a known issue in some Porsche models from that generation. If you're not comfortable with the dealer, look for a certified Porsche specialist in your area, that's what worked for me. Hope this helps!
