Thanks for sharing your experience! My Panamera just hit 48707 KM and had its last service about 2 months ago. The issues started out of nowhere last week and have been getting progressively worse. They're definitely more noticeable during cold starts, but now it's happening even during regular driving. Your wiring harness issue sounds pretty similar to what I'm experiencing. Might head to the dealer since it should still be under warranty. Did you notice any specific patterns with the stalling before you got it fixed?
Hey again! Thanks for the follow-up. Yeah, your symptoms sound eerily similar to what I experienced with my Cayenne. With mine, I noticed the stalling was definitely more frequent during damp weather and cold starts, basically any time there was more moisture in the air. Looking back, I think the moisture was getting into that corroded connector and messing with the sensor signals. Since you're still under warranty, definitely take it to the dealer. I regret not doing that with mine since it was just out of warranty when it happened. But honestly, the fix was pretty straightforward once they identified the problem. The whole repair took about 2 hours at my specialist's shop. One thing I noticed before getting it fixed, the stalling got really predictable when the engine was warming up. Like clockwork, it would cut out around 2-3 minutes after a cold start. Does yours follow any pattern like that? Also, if your car is anything like mine was, you might notice the problems get worse after driving through heavy rain or after washing the car. Let me know what the dealer says. I'm curious if it's the same issue. These Porsche hybrids are amazing cars but they can be a bit finicky with their sensors!
Thanks for all that detail, especially about the moisture sensitivity! Come to think of it, we've had quite a bit of rain lately, and that's around when these issues started getting worse. Mine doesn't have that exact 2-3 minute pattern you mentioned, but it definitely struggles more on rainy days. I've got an appointment with the dealer tomorrow morning, so I'll be sure to mention the wiring harness issue you experienced. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, it's given me a much better idea of what to expect. I'll probably update this thread once I get the diagnosis back from the dealer, in case anyone else runs into similar issues with their Panamera. Thanks again!
Hey there! I had a somewhat similar issue with my 2020 Cayenne E-Hybrid last winter. I have some experience working on cars, but this one was beyond my DIY skills. My symptoms were pretty much identical to yours, unusual stalling, hard starts, and that annoying CEL. Took it to my trusted Porsche specialist who diagnosed it as a faulty crankshaft sensor wiring harness. The connector was corroded and causing intermittent signal issues. Fixed it for about 170€ including labor. Before I can give more specific advice, could you share: How many miles/km on your Panamera? Any recent work done? Are these issues constant or intermittent? Might save you some headache if it's the same problem! Let me know those details and I'll try to help further.
