Thanks for sharing your experience! Yeah, my latest service was just done 2 months ago at 96993 KM, and everything was fine until these warnings popped up suddenly. I'm getting error codes P0720 and C1288, but honestly not sure what they mean. It's annoying because the car was running perfectly before this. I've got the 4 E-Hybrid, really hoping it won't be as expensive as your repair, but with Porsche, you never know!
Hey again! Yeah, those fault codes actually sound different from what I dealt with on my Cayenne. P0720 typically points to the output speed sensor, while C1288 is often related to the wheel speed sensor circuit, so your initial hunch about the speed sensor might be right on the money! When I had my ABS issue, it was the whole control unit that needed replacing, but yours sounds more like it could be sensor-related, which should be cheaper (fingers crossed!). My Cayenne's repair was more complex, but since you've mentioned those specific codes, it might just be a faulty sensor or wiring issue. Quick tip from my experience, check if the issue gets worse when driving on wet roads or making tight turns. That's how I first noticed something was off with my Cayenne before the full failure. Also, since you mentioned the recent service, might be worth checking if anything got knocked loose during that work. I'd still recommend getting it checked at a Porsche specialist though. These hybrids can be tricky, and you don't want to mess around with safety systems. Let me know what they find, I'm curious to know if it's something simpler than what I went through with mine!
Thanks so much for the detailed response! You've definitely given me some hope that this might not be as expensive as I initially feared. I haven't noticed any specific issues with wet roads, but come to think of it, the warnings did first appear after taking a pretty tight turn into my driveway. I'll definitely take it to my Porsche specialist, better safe than sorry with these systems. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and tips. I've got an appointment booked for next Tuesday, so I'll update the thread once I know what's actually causing the problem. Hopefully it's just a sensor that needs replacing! Thanks again for all the help!
Hey there! I had a similar issue with my 2017 Cayenne Hybrid last year (also have a Macan in the garage). I have some experience working on cars, but this was definitely above my skill level. My ABS and stability control lights came on too. Took it to my trusted workshop and they diagnosed a faulty ABS control unit. Total bill was around 1000€, not cheap, but at least it fixed the problem completely. Which Panamera model do you have exactly, and what fault codes are you getting? This info would help me share more specific details about what to watch out for.
