Thanks for sharing your experience! The mileage is currently at 79569 KM, and I had my last service about 3 months ago. The issues seem unusual, sometimes they pop up right after starting the car, other times while driving. Haven't noticed any clear pattern yet. I'll definitely take it to the Porsche workshop as you suggested. Hopefully, it's just a control unit like in your case and nothing more serious. Did your workshop mention how common this issue is with Porsches?
Hey again! Yeah, I totally get what you're dealing with. When I had those issues with my Cayenne, I actually asked the same question about how common it was. My service advisor at the workshop mentioned they see these control unit failures every now and then in newer Porsches, especially in models from 2018-2020. Not super common, but not rare either. In my case (remember my Cayenne was at about 65,000 KM when it happened), the unusual nature of the issues was exactly the same as what you're describing. Sometimes it would act up right away, sometimes mid-drive, it was pretty unpredictable. The fact that yours is showing similar behavior at 79,569 KM makes me think even more that it could be the same problem. One thing I forgot to mention in my first reply, before I got it fixed, I tried disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes (kind of like a hard reset). It helped temporarily, but the issues came back after a few days. Just thought I'd share that in case you want to try it while waiting for your workshop appointment. But yeah, definitely get it checked out professionally, these electrical gremlins can be really annoying if not fixed properly! Let me know how it goes at the workshop. Curious to hear if it turns out to be the same issue!
Thanks so much for all the detailed info! That's really helpful to know about the control unit issues in 2018-2020 models. I might actually try that battery disconnect trick while I wait for my appointment next week, nothing to lose, right? Even if it's temporary, it could help in a pinch. I've booked it in with my local Porsche workshop for next Tuesday, and I'll definitely keep you posted on what they find. Really hoping it's just the control unit like in your case. The similarity in symptoms is pretty striking, especially the unusual timing of the issues. At least I feel better knowing I'm not the only one who's dealt with this! Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, it's been super helpful in understanding what I might be dealing with. Will update you once I know more!
Hey there! I had some experience with electrical gremlins on my 2018 Porsche Cayenne. Sounds really similar to what I went through, had multiple systems going haywire at once. Long story short, it turned out to be a faulty control unit. Had to take it to my trusted Porsche workshop, and they diagnosed it after running some tests. The fix wasn't cheap, cost me around 1000€ for the new unit and programming, but it solved all the electrical issues at once. What's the mileage on your Panamera? And have you noticed any specific pattern when these issues occur (like after starting the car or when it's warm)? Might help narrow things down. Just be careful with this one, electrical issues can be tricky to diagnose. Better have it checked by a professional Porsche workshop to avoid any trial and error repairs.
