Hey there! Thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought to check the wiring harness for corrosion at all. It's a bit surprising for sure, without LEDs blinking on my dashboard. You wouldn't happen to remember roughly how much you forked out to get that problem fixed, would you? Also, since the repair, has anything else popped up related, or has your Doblo been running smooth? Sending out good vibes to my Ulysee, hope she ain't acting up!
Hello again! Yeah, after spotting the issue, my mechanic got straight onto soldering that faulty wiring to the sensor and it's been smooth sailing with my Doblo ever since. The radiator shutter's now working like a charm, no problems or anything since it was fixed up. Fingers crossed it stays that way! As for your question on costs, well, got a bit of a shock to my wallet when the bill came in - those pesky corroded wires set me back out about €155.00. It's not exactly pocket change, but considering the fault could have potentially led to much more expensive damage down the line, I reckon it's worth every cent. So, if I were you, I'd get that checked out pronto. Just hoping your Ulysee is as co-operative as my Doblo was! Good wishes with it!
Hello once again! Thanks heaps for sharing all this with me. €155.00 seems a bit pricey but I totally get your point, it's better to fix this issue now than face bigger troubles in the future. Okay, so I'll have my mechanic delve into the wiring for any possible corrosion. Your Doblo's happy ending gives me hope. Cheers for the help and the good vibes! Keep ripping and roaring in your Doblo!
Hey there! I dealt with something similar on my 2007 Fiat Doblo not too long ago. The engine started to overheat quite a bit. Turns out, it wasn't the radiator shutter, but the problem was with the wiring harness to a specific sensor. There was some extensive corrosion on it that was messing with the sensor readings and sucking up all the coolant. The mechanic had to replace the defective wiring harness and it was a bit of a job, as they had to remove certain parts to reach it. Corrosion on wiring is no joke, it can cause all sorts of short circuits and wrong readings messing up your engine's performance big time, just like it did to mine. I wasn't expecting that problem at all, but glad my mechanic figured it out. After the replacement, the temperature abnormalities and coolant drop issues stopped. I'd say have your mechanic check the wiring to the sensors too. This thing might be more common than we think! Good luck with your Ulysee!
